Squarespace Site Favicon Browser Icon – Key Tips
Squarespace calls favicon as a browser icon - it is same thing.
Key Points:
Upload a PNG transparent image with background for favicon of your Squarespace website.
Favicon must be any multiple of 48 square pixels.
Please keep in mind following important key points when designing a favicon for your Squarespace site.

By default, Squarespace displays cube shaped favicon in browser for your site. You should change it to your own brand favicon for your business identity.
You can change favicon in your Squarespace website through this navigation path. Home menu > Design > Browser Icon. Upload your favicon image from your computer and click ‘Save’ option.
Squarespace recommends between 100px × 100px to 300px × 300px as file dimensions for a favicon image. [RD]
However, in my opinion, the ideal favicon size should be 144x144 pixels – you can consult another Dozro article for guidance about the ideal favicon size.
Squarespace recommends ICO and PNG image format for the favicon.
File size of the favicon in Squarespace must be under 100 KB.
You cannot upload favicon in SVG format on Squarespace. You cannot upload multiple favicons in multiple sizes and formats. I strongly suggest you that you must only provide single favicon.
Google Search also recommends that you must provide a single, square favicon in multiples of 48px sq for your website to appear in search results. [RD]
