Using Metaphorical Icon Symbol of Brand as Favicon Examples

Some websites use unique icon as browser favicon which metaphorically provides a distinguishing identity for the business.

For example, website of USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) uses light bulb as favicon on their website.

Please note that this website icon is not the part of USPTO website logo. → Watch Video Tutorial below.

For another example, Lytho uses chain symbol as favicon, although it is not part its logo but it metaphorically reflects service line of the brand.

Using Metaphorical Icon Symbol as Favicon Examples

A famous manufacturer of kitchen appliances uses illustrative image of a stand mixer machine as website icon, though it is not part of the text-only logo of KitchenAid.

This is a great inspirational idea for those brands having no icon or awkwardly using all letters as website icon.

Here is another example. The website of Think with Google uses a light bulb 💡 symbol as the favicon. It is understandable because Think with Google provides new and innovative ideas for marketing.

This Dozro website also uses this type of favicon. Another of our website Wondroz also uses a metaphor (star) favicon.

You can upload variety of symbols and emojis to your website as favorite icon. For example, you can use a star icon, love icon, dollar icon, flower symbol, fire symbol, pigeon, map pin symbol, tick mark, upward arrow, and leaf symbol. Possibilities are endless and you can choose a symbol as favicon according to the personality of your brand.
