Optimal Placement of Logo Icon and Logo Text in Website Logos: Left, Right or above the Logo Text?
In my opinion the icon should be on the right or left side of text on logo. The icon should not be positioned above the text. Placing it horizontally will better integrate the logo into the website header without increasing its height.

Statista logo uses icon on the right side of text.
YouTube TV logo uses icon on the left side of text.
Squarespace logo uses icon on the left side of text.
Google Meet logo uses icon on the left side of text.
Dozro logo uses icon on the right side of wordmark.
However, there are some rare websites which use icon above the text such as Nestle, Pringles. However, a prime example is the website of Wondershare the company behind many great software including my favorite Filmora Pro video editor.
The icon in the logo of Wondershare is placed above the text and this apparently has forced the web designer to minimize the size of logo for maintaining the height of site header.
Visually, the size of Wondershare logotype looks smaller than that of navigation text – which is not a website standard and preferable design.
