How to Hide/Show Collections button in Microsoft Edge?

Navigation Path: Click Ellipsis or three dots … on top right of web browser window to access ‘Settings and More’ (or press Alt+F) → Settings → Appearance → Select which buttons to show on the toolbar: → Collections button.

To Access the settings Microsoft Edge mobile browser, click three dots on bottom of phone screen, then Collections.

Next to ‘Collections button’ click the toggle option either to show or hide Collections button or icon which appears like a plus + in the box.

Collections are not available when using InPrivate or Guest modes in Edge browser.

How to Add or Delete a Folder in Collections?

To add a folder, click on Collections button in toolbar, then click ‘Start new collection’ next to plus + symbol. Enter name of collection folder, your folder is created in Collections. You can add currently opened webpage into this new folder or keep it empty.

Just click on any folder and click on the page icon to add some note for this folder. You can click three dots to send the folder to MS Word (or others) and a new Word document will be created in your OneDrive account with all entries of the Collections folder. This action will not move your collections folder but it will only send a copy of the folder in MS Word.

To delete a folder in Collections, just hover mouse over the folder and click the little empty box next to folder name, and then select the delete button which appears above.

How to Change Name of a Collections Folder?

To rename a folder in Edge Collections, just click on the folder, then in the new menu, click on the current name of folder (usually New Folder) and type text to rename the folder.

How to Add or Delete a Link Entry in Collections Folder of Microsoft Edge?

Just open your favorite page of a website, click collections button from toolbar, hover the mouse over the folder where you want this link to be saved, on hovering mouse over the folder, a plus + icon will appear on the folder, just click this plus icon and the link of webpage will be added to the collections folder.

To add a link, you can also click the folder to open it and then select ‘Add current page’ and it will be added.

If you want to copy, share or delete a specific link entry from a Collections folder, hover your mouse over the folder, select the empty box and then click on relevant buttons of copy, share or delete for corresponding action.

On Collections menu, you can select three dots for some more tweaks such as sorting the list of folders.

Save Notes in Collections of Edge Browser

While browsing internet, we may want to save notes about interesting and random ideas in mind or saving important notes about anything else.

Collections feature in Edge browser effectively helps you in taking and saving notes.

I suggest you create a separate folder for notes in Edge browser, for quick access later on.

Just open a folder, click on the page icon on the top of menu and write anything on your mind. Here Edge browser also empowers you format your notes in your own way, by selecting text colors, heading styles, bold text, or writing bulleted list.

You can access your synced notes on desktop as well as mobile devices.

How to add an Image to a Collections Folder?

Sometimes, you see some interesting photo on a website page and want to save the image for later reference. You can easily save the image in Collections of Edge folder.

Just right-click on the image in Edge browser, and then select ‘Add to Collections’ in new pane and click on the destination folder. The image will be added to the Collections folder along with link of the website.

How to Save Specific Part of a Webpage into Collections Folder?

You can save a screenshot of any part of the page from a website.

Just select Web Capture tool from the toolbar. Consult Web capture section in this article for more detail.

Take screenshot of your desired area of a webpage and then select ‘Markup capture’ and then select ‘Add to Collections’ button and choose your desired folder and the web capture image will be saved into the Collections folder.

Access Collections on All Devices

Microsoft Edge automatically syncs your collections and notes on all of your devices. Just download Microsoft Edge browser on an iPhone or Android devices and after sign-in, your collections folders including notes will appear on all of your other devices.
