Difference Between Home Page and Startup Page in Chrome
Home Page icon appears on the left side of address bar in browser. When you click on the Home Page icon, browser always opens a specific preset link.
Startup Page is the one which opens when you launch your chrome browser. It may consist of several links.
You can customize both Home and Startup pages with your own preferences.
How to Show/Hide Home Page Icon in Chrome Browser?
Click three dots … on top right corner of screen in Chrome browser → Settings → Appearance → Show home button.
Here you can turn ON or OFF the toggle to show or hide the ‘Home’ page icon on the left side of address bar in browser.
In Android phone, click three dots, Settings, then select Homepage.
Set Specific Webpage for Home in Chrome Browser
When you turn ‘Show home button’ ON, you get two further options, either to open a new tab or a specific webpage. Opening new tab is needless as you can also do it by clicking the plus (+) button next to a tab.
It is good option to select the second option to open a specific website page when you click the Home icon in toolbar. You can enter URL of your favorite webpage; for example, you can enter https://www.facebook.com/dozro.com.official, or https://www.bbc.com/ or https://www.dozro.com or any other website.
Options to Customize Startup Page in Chrome
Click three dots … on top right corner of screen in Chrome browser → Settings → On Startup.
Here you get three options to choose from.
Open the New Tab page: Select this option to automatically open a new tab when you start Chrome browser. New tab page has a Google logo with Search bar, by default.
Continue where you left off (My favorite Option): Select this option if you want Chrome to save your tabs. Chrome will open tabs with exact webpages, you had opened the previous time (say yesterday) while closing the Chrome browser. According to Google, on mobile versions of Chrome, this feature is always enabled without a setting. I often prefer this option because I can start my work today from where I had finished it before sleeping yesterday. Websites are automatically logged-in with help of saved cookies. This option is similar to ‘Open tabs from the previous session’ option in Edge browser.
Open a specific page or set of pages: Select this option and enter URLs of your favorite multiple websites. Chrome will open the same links (webpages) each time, you start Chrome browser.
